NYCC 2025: What the Marvel Animation and Television Panel Could Have Up Their Sleeve

George SerranoComment

The biggest event of the year is almost here, and no I'm not talking about the holidays. New York Comic Con 2025 is right around the corner. While some of us were bummed to hear that Marvel Studios won't have a presence, the news of a Marvel Television and Marvel Animation panel has me screaming. This is our chance to get some serious scoops on the shows we're all dying to see on Disney+. So what exactly can we expect to be announced? I've got some ideas.

The Return of the King: Daredevil Born Again Season 2

It's been a long wait for Daredevil Born Again, and fans are restless. We know the show has been retooling, so NYCC is the perfect opportunity to reintroduce it. We could get a full trailer, a confirmed release date, and maybe even a surprise appearance by Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Jon Bernthal. Imagine seeing a full clip of Matt Murdock in his updated suit, or Wilson Fisk back in action as the Kingpin. The excitement would be off the charts. It's time to bring back the Man Without Fear in a big way.

The Punisher and Vision Quest Get the Spotlight

In addition to Daredevil, there are rumors of specials for The Punisher and Vision. This panel is the ideal time to make those official. Maybe we will get a short teaser and a logo reveal for a Punisher project, confirming that Frank Castle is back in business. The same goes for Vision. With Vision Quest being so mysterious, a title card and a few key details could send the internet into a frenzy. It's high time these characters got their due, and a panel like this could do just that.

New Life for Animated Favorites: X-Men '97 and Spider-Man

The Marvel Animation section of the panel is equally as exciting. The first season of X-Men '97 was a masterpiece, and we've been waiting for news on season two. I’m betting we get an exclusive trailer, a release window, and maybe even a surprise announcement about a third season. The hype for this show is immense and Marvel knows it.

Then there is Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. This show has been flying under the radar, but it has the potential to be a game changer. We might see the first full trailer for season two, along with a voice cast reveal for some new characters. It would be amazing to hear who is voicing Gwen Stacy or maybe even Miles Morales. Of course, a Marvel panel isn't complete without a few wild card announcements.

Could they reveal a new animated series? Fans are always speculating about a new Avengers cartoon or a show based on the Champions. Or what about new seasons for current shows like What If…? or I Am Groot?

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: A Reunion OR a Resurrection?

In a separate but equally exciting event, there's a reunion panel for "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." The panel, featuring Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, and Chloe Bennet, is on the Main Stage on Saturday, October 11. While the official description says it will be a celebration of the show's legacy, a reunion panel on the main stage at a major con like NYCC is not just for reminiscing. This is where speculation goes into overdrive and it's a prime opportunity for Marvel to make a major announcement.

The biggest question on every fan's mind is whether this reunion panel will be more than just a trip down memory lane. The show's connection to the main MCU has always been a point of contention among fans. While characters like Nick Fury and Maria Hill appeared, the show's events were largely ignored by the films. With the MCU now fully embracing the multiverse, there has never been a better time to bring back the S.H.I.E.L.D. crew. Imagine if the panel is used to officially canonize the show's events or announce a new project. Here is my take on what might be in the works

The most likely scenario is a limited series or a special on Disney+ that confirms the team's place in the new MCU. We could finally see Daisy Johnson, a.k.a. Quake, join a new team. A cameo in another project is also a possibility. The panel could reveal that one of the agents will appear in an upcoming Disney+ show like Daredevil Born Again or even an animated series like What If…?. Of course, every fan is hoping for Quake's big screen debut. A panel like this would be the perfect platform to announce her first appearance on the big screen, perhaps in a movie like Captain America Brave New World or a future Avengers film. The timing feels right for a superhero of her caliber to make a splash.

In The End….

The possibilities for this year's New York Comic Con are through the roof. From animated series to live action blockbusters and the potential return of our favorite S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, the next few months will be full of speculation and excitement. The Marvel Television and Marvel Animation panel is scheduled for New York Comic Con 2025 on October 11 at 1:30 PM ET, so be there for exclusive news. No matter what gets announced, we are in for a treat, and I for one, can't wait to see what happens.
